Introducing REAL ITEMS FOUNDATION - products with digital identities

It brings great joy to introduce our blockchain company,
Real Items Foundation.
The origin of our story starts with our CEO, David Menard. He invented a product in 2012 of which he wrote a patent to protect his intellectual property. He produced the product in San Francisco until Alibaba vendors were using his photos to sell counterfeits. He learned first hand how there is very little to do as an IP holder when counterfeiters target your product. David took a few years off from that business, learned to code, discovered blockchain and decided to build a blockchain company to combat the production of counterfeit activity; something Alibaba vendors could not fake.
Real Items Foundation has built a suite of tools and applications to help enterprise adopt anti-counterfeit solutions for their supply-chain. Our approach is unique in the sense that we do not focus on tracking each step in a supply-chain but instead focus on adding the consumer to the supply-chain to leverage anti-counterfeit infrastructure for marketing purposes. The information included in a REAL ITEM is all for external use opposed internal warehouse tracking.
We can divide our product into two verticals. The first is for Enterprise and the second is for Consumers.
We offer enterprises an Authenticity as a Service platform called TAM - Tokenized Asset Manager. This enables brands to tokenize their supply-chain, use their existing printing hardware to include 2FA QR codes on packaging or product and track the analytics of all the engagement. We have developed the 2FA QR code to ensure the QR codes are not duplicated. We feel this approach is easier for enterprise to adopt overnight and keeps the cost low while providing the highest level of security. NFC tags can be used but are slow to integrate into a supply-chain and not widely accepted by all devices. A 2FA QR code can only be registered once by the consumer, providing a certificate of authenticity from the origin. A 2FA QR code includes a 1 time use PIN number. With TAM, enterprises will have access to the analytics of the tokenized supply-chain.
For Consumers, we have built the REAL ITEMS MASTER CLOSET. This is a web application for consumers to register their REAL ITEMS. Consumers can expect to scan REAL ITEMS with their phone and retrieve the item’s digital identity. All REAL ITEMs have a digital identity including product data, exclusive media content, a sweepstakes entry and basket of micro-services pegged to the specific product. These micro-services include insurance, direct customer support (via chatbot) and eventually we plan to open up a marketplace for 3rd party developers to create additional micro-services.
When a REAL ITEM is in a consumer’s MASTER CLOSET, they are given control of the digital identity. This includes the ability to flag an item as stolen. This means, if someone steals the physical item, the digital identity gives the consumer the control to flag the item as stolen on chain. Anyone who scans the item after would be warned the item is stolen property and advised not to purchase.
We are in the process of updating the UI/UX and will be updating the community as we grow out of private beta status.
